A search of premises is the search, in a specific location, of an item that may be used as evidence of an offense, the possession of which constitutes an infraction or that was obtained by the perpetration of an infraction.

In most cases, the search requires a collaborative effort with the syndic of a professional order or a supporting role for a bankruptcy trustee. It is a prerequisite for the obtention of a warrant to this effect.
